Engen Victoria Falls

Extended Simulation Resutls

The simulation update required inclusion of Energy Consumption and Net savings resulting from the system. All the dates were obtained from the Typical Meteorological Year (TMY) of Engen Victoria Falls.

For this submission, the data in Table 2 is presented as scaled daily average to match the input data of 101kwk per dar or 4.2088kwh/hr. However, this data can be presented for 8760 hours as a monthly data.

The net saving is the cumulative sum of the daily net savings resulting from installing the solar system. In principle, the net savings from an energy viewpoint relates to the Renewable Energy Fraction or the penetration level. This value relates to the total cost reduction as a percentage.

For this grid-tied system, all the savings are pumped to the grid at the time of generation as there is no storage.

1. Scaled Distribution of Energy Streams

The monthly and annual energy savings due to the system is computed form the cumulative sum at each hour. The scaled average renewable energy fraction is 93% for the system.

2. Electrical Layout

The electrical layout diagram of the proposed hybrid system is shown in Figure 1. The diagram is not to scale, and all the AC breakers are adjustable.
